PostSubject: How to take screenshots   Wed Jan 25, 2012 6:23 am

We all know this question comes up repeatedly and instead of having thousands of threads where the same thing is asked, I thought I would create this one so HOPEFULLY the pointless threads will stay at a miminum ( Only thinking of you here Admins Wink ).

Taking the screenshot:

1) When your in a FM and you are ready to take a screenshot of what you want. Simply press the PrntScreen key on your keyboard, this is usually located next to F12.

2) Open up a image editing programe (Usually paint does the trick). Go to EDIT --> Paste. You will notice that the picture you print screened has been displayed.

3) Now simply save your image as whatever you want by going to File --> Save. It is usually recommended that you save it to a location which is easily rememberable.

Uploading the image:

Next is making the image appear. This is done fairly simple and can be done in 2 steps.

1) Got to any image hosting website. I use Imageshack. ( www.imageshack.us )

2) You will usually find a browse button. Click that and browse to the location of your screenshot. Once you find it click Open.

3) after that wait for the the website to load the image and click Upload

4) Under "Links to share your image" you will need to find the code to copy and paste. The only your looking for is Forum Code.

5) Once you find it, click in the box and hightlight the text and click "copy"

6) Paste the code on here. It should look something like this [ URL=http: https://redcdn.net/ihimg/photo/my-images/4/vfm.png/ ][ IMG ] http: http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/1828/vfm.png[ /IMG ][ /URL ] without the spaces of course.

Your image should look something like this:

Another way of uploading:

1) Once you have your image saved, you will find a little icon just above where you type on here called "Host an image"

2) You again browse the location of your image and click Open when you have found it.

3) Click "Host it" and copy and paste the Image coding. It should again come up like this.

I hope this helps people and saves all them pointless threads asking the same thing. If you still have trouble, post your problems here and im sure someone will help you.

PLEASE NOTE: In this explaination I used imageshack as the hosting website, some other image hosting sites you find MAY be laid out differently but will be very similar to this one.

Thank you
